ZIMBABWE’S A & B LADIES LEAVE FOR BOTSWANA
AN animated A and B Triangular tournament delegation left for Botswana on Monday (26 July) with a mission to accomplish – bringing home the A and B Triangular titles. The 11-member team led by national team coach Cath Riley, flew out to Botswana at midday for the tournament that will be held on 29 July at Phakalane Golf Estate in Gaborone. read more...

NORTON COUNTRY CLUB shot to the top of the Harare Province Golf Union (HPGU) A League last week (18 July) when they edged Borrowdale Brooke 4-2 on match day 7 of the 2010 season. In what is turning out to be a rollercoaster league, it was the debutants who emerged the new log leaders following an amazing turn of events in the six league matches played on the day. read more...
 
ZIM AMATEURS HEAD TO THE LOWVELD
Scott Vincent, he will miss the tournament because of school exams
IT\'S an all out assault on the golf course this weekend as the cream of the nation’s amateur golfers battle for honours in the Midlands Amateur Championship in the Lowveld. The tournament, which is one of the tournaments that count towards qualification for the bi-annual Eisenhower Trophy, will be played over 72-holes in line with international standards. The event will run from Friday to Sunday (23-25 July) with 18 holes each on Friday and Sunday while 36 holes will be played on Saturday.

The last remaining winning record in the country's major golf tournaments tumbled at Royal Harare last Sunday (11 July) when Aulia Alfazema pipped Claire "Mama G" Minter to the Harare Province Ladies Strokeplay Championship. On a dramatic winter morning, it was Alfazema, the current Zimbabwe Ladies Golf Union (ZLGU) vice-president who shone, taking advantage of a rather subdued showing by Minter to claw back a four-stroke deficit and post an unlikely one-shot victory. read more...

OUTSTANDING club sides Chapman Golf Club and Police Golf Club continued with their impressive form in last Sunday's (18 July) round of Harare Province Golf Union (HPGU) B League action at Sherwood Golf Club. Louis Oosthuizen….claims a 7 shot victory at the 139th Open Championship
Louis Oosthuizen strolled to a seven-shot victory at the Open Championship to claim his first major title. The 27-year-old South African led by four shots heading into the final round and a 71 proved more than sufficient as none of his rivals mounted any sort of a challenge. CREAMER BREAKS MAJOR DUCK
Creamer: First major triumph
Paula Creamer finally broke her major duck as she claimed the 65th US Women's Open by four strokes at Oakmont. Creamer battled through testing conditions in Illinois and severe pair in her injured thumb to end up as the only woman under par for the tournament.The 23-year-old American shot a final-round, two-under-par 69 - her third under-par round in a row - to win at three under par from Suzann Pettersen and Na Yeon Choi.
